I remember seeing Joe at the University of Oregon at a basketball court. The band was Weather Report. Great show back then. I think it was in the mid to late 70’s

On second thought-I saw the Adderly band about the same time frame-maybe thats where i saw J. Zawinul- at any rate I remember him doing an extended solo that was incredible. My comments stand about the Don Ellis group

I saw Mr. Zawinul in the early seventies(as close as I can remember) performing with the Don Ellis Orchestra-guess it had to be before 1974. An incredible concert from one of the strangest groups I have ever seen-check out Don Ellis Live at Filmore West-if you can find it
