I wanted to mention briefly that today would have been Hiram Bullock’s 53rd Birthday. There may be some people who don’t know that Hiram passed away on July 25th 2008 after a brave struggle with throat cancer. So many of us recall him as the original guitarist from The David Letterman Show. He was certainly one of the coolest parts of the show. He was a well respected guitarist that played with many artists such as Steely Dan, Sting, Jaco Pastorius, Al Green, James Taylor and Chaka Khan, just to name a few.
His passion and tremendous soul will live forever through the music he left behind. Rest in Peace Hiram… For more information regarding Hiram and this sad news, you can go here …
Here are a few clips to remember this great person.
Great tribute to a fantastic guitarist… thanks again BluesBlogger !!
I haven’t been ignoring you or your tributes… but lately my 5 year old laptop has been giving me grief when I’ve tried to “access” your blog…. it just wouldn’t finish… and if I tried to access anything… it wouldn’t finish that either !! I’m sure the problem was on my end and not yours !! Hope I didn’t miss your 2nd anniversary party….
I hope you read this… things seem ok…. I wish the “toothfairy” would bring me a new “putter”… but I guess that’s not what that one does…. oh well… fantastic tribute BB… thanks !!
PS. wished I could preview comments… that way my “punctuation” wouldn’t be out of place… I hate when I do that !! BTW: I wasn’t having troubles at other “blogs” just BluesBlogger… figured it might have been how much was on the site… naww… that doesn’t make sence ’cause other sites were “packed” also… oh well no problems now !! A “double hat-tip” to the greatest blues blog I’ve found…
The Blues Blogger’s Blog !!
Not really your typical blues blogger post… But Hiram was a guitar player I loved listening to… A very versatile guitarist. I remember watching him and thinking how much fun he seemed to have whenever he played. And I wanted to briefly make mention of this great loss on my site…
As usual, thanks for the positive words… I’m not worthy đŸ™‚
What an all round guy, musically and emotionally, a pleasure to watch and listen too, thanks to the Blues Blogger.
